| Cheap entertainment, poor talent – embarrassment all round |
1. “The treatment my son is getting, absolutely free, is certainly much more of value than the prize money he could not get on the show,” says Mustafa Alam, whose son Shahzad stripped down for the sake of entertainment on the show. He was, however, saved from total embarrassment, as the audience voted him out just as he was about to pull off his last piece of clothing. The boy, according to reports, was mentally ill, and came to the show to get the show’s famous “life-changing” prize money of Rs 11,112.
2. A man in his early twenties, Ekhath Kholkar tried to clap using only one hand at a time. He claimed he had been doing so since the age of three. He was successful in this mindless activity (he produced sound by the movement of his half-open fist) but was promptly sent off by the audience votes. Apart from the mental hospital treatment offer, he has also been hired as an “energy-saving consultant” by the National Transgender Society. Kholkar was honoured by IIM Ahmedabad, which invited him for a guest lecture to show how desperate people, not getting placements, can enhance their abilities, by changing the definition of talent.
4. A woman was declared “brought laughing” when she was taken to the mental hospital straight from the show studio. She had tried to entertain the audience by laughing excessively herself, but the audience wanted something else. Noted laughter enthusiasts Archana Puran Singh and Navjot Singh Sidhu have announced their sympathy for the lady, and will soon be visiting her in the hospital. Her treatment, also, will be absolutely free-of-cost.
